TurnOut was started in December 1997 as a two man noise project, in Innsbruck / Austria. The brutal sound was produced by guitar-one-man-show Wolfgang "Mason" Maurer and Christian Fürtinger also called "the Fart" on drums.

They produced a split CD with the very evil "Bug" on the Jurassic Punk label. 2 years later "Faster than Satan" came out.

2001 the band released "Was ischn da los?" supported by a vocalist named Otto Horwarth for the first time....

2002 Turn Out turned out to become a 5 piece with Severin Gombocz on the second guitar, groove machine Andreas "Tinti" Deutinger treating the bass and Stephan "the Reverend" El Batawy, who's voice sounds like a bastard of Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Tom Araya (Slayer) and Glenn Danzig. So this fact gives the band a wonderful 80’s flavour.

Doesn’t mean his voice is a copy though, you will remember his vocals when you hear them....

With a special mixture of Thrash Metal and Metalcore the band got recognised in Innsbruck and Tirol, but they had been playing in other areas of Austria too. ..

With their uncompromising sound Turn Out won the 2nd place at the innsider band contest 2006 at the Treibhaus Innsbruck, where they battled against aprox. 50 bands trying their luck....

In the same year the album "Prepare to Burn" was released..... After the drummer left the band, he got replaced by the double bass swing monster Michael "Gassi" Gassebner, who brings a fresh jazzy breeze into the band....

The recognition value of their sound is guaranteed by the influences of the classic metal bands like Sabbath, Maiden and Priest with riffs that remind you of King Crimson, but more disturbing and more brutal, and the Death and Thrash bands of the 80ies and early 90ies like Exodus and Pestilence. Last but not least according to this great Cumming straight out of the 80’s organ....

Sevi left the band in 2008 and was replaced by Marcy Brownstone, who spices the Soup with some good old Rock 'n Roll and adds his crunchy, bluesy sound to the huge variety of themes handles in Turnout....

The new CD titled "A tribute to Mortality" was released that year the Turn out Bulldozer to wreck everything standing in their way....

In April 2011 CECH replaced El Batawy to front the band and lead them to new sound experiences and harden up the whole group with bone striking growls and deep screams.
